Abbott and Costello Meet the Creature From the Black Lagoon

Abbott and Costello Meet the Creature From the Black Lagoon – from the Colgate Comedy Hour, Bud and Lou do a haunted house routine. And they literally meet The Creature from the Black Lagoon — for roughly.2 seconds.

Review

For those who don’t know, Abbott and Costello Meet the Creature From the Black Lagoon is not a movie. It’s simply a sketch on The Colgate Comedy Hour, where Bud Abbott & Lou Costello are guests. They’re supposedly visiting the prop department to borrow some items for their appearance on the Colgate Comedy Hour. In fact, the person working at the prop department is played by Bud’s nephew. While there, they do several haunted house routine bits, such as the moving candlestick. Of course, Bud is out of the room, and nobody else sees them.

After some funny comedy, the Frankenstein monster comes out, frightening Bud — who runs away through a prop wall! And Lou’s laughing — until the Creature from the Black Lagoon appears, ending the sketch.
