Back Home Again, aka. Investment Advice – Lou’s earned $75, and Bud wants him to invest it. First, they try to canvass the neighborhood to see what people will want to buy after the war. Bud convinces him to invest it in war bonds, and Lou dreams of the “far future” of 10 years when the bonds mature. With Lou’s son being the beneficiary – what could go wrong?

  • Lou Costello – comedian.

  • Connie Haines – singer, occasionally plays the part of Lou’s girlfriend.
  • Ken Niles – announcer & antagonist to Lou Costello.
  • Elvia Allman – as Mrs. Niles, Ken’s wife & Lou’s antagonist. This week, she plays a gushing fan of Lou’s at the railroad station! Then, in the dream sequence, Lou’s wife!
  • Artie Auerbach as Mr. Kitzel – one of the people that Bud and Lou stop at, trying to find out what to invest in. And he almost makes Lou a junior partner in his tailor business.
  • Mel Blanc (Neptune’s Daughter; Looney Tunes) – the bum who greets Lou at the train station. Later, in the dream sequence, he’s Mr. Blanc from the bank, as well as providing sound effects.
  • John Brown – the worker at the munitions plant, who sleeps during the day. But Bud insists that Lou wake him up when they’re doing a census!
